Amazing Weekend
I had a great weekend. Friday night Therese and I went out to dinner at one of my favorite Italian restaurants and then went to the Vic Theater for Brew and View to watch The Big Lebowski and Shallow Hal, which was about 2 times better than I thought it would be.

When we left the movies we were tipsy after having heavy duty Long Island Iced Teas at dinner and a few drinks during the movie. It had been snowing all night and it was a good wet snow. We got off at our 'el' stop and on the walk home I kept rolling snowballs and seeing how big I could make them. This culminated in our constructing a gigantic snowman. I rolled the base for two block, making it nearly 3 feet in height. Therese constructed the 'thorax' of the snowman, and it was so large we couldn't lift it, and had to shave it down in size. The head was easy. Of course, it is 3am and we woke up a neighbor who brought out an apple cut in half, a stalk of celery and a banana to help decorate it. A bit later another neighbor came running out with a bunch of stuff and helped us finish. By 4:30 we were soaked to the bone, had a bizarre looking snow creature, and had met two of our neighbors. It was a blast.

The next day I had wanted to go shopping for some curtains for the bedroom but was too lazy. We made plans to stay in and have a 'snackable dinner'. After running to the grocery store real quick to pick up some wine, cider, brie, California Pizza Kitchen pizzas, spinach dip, and assorted other bits, we came home fixed it all up, say in the living room and ate while watching movies. We were still really tired from the night before and ended up crashing fairly early.

The cat woke us up fairly early on Sunday. I got up and played Dark Ages of Camelot while Therese slept. When the cat finally settled down, Therese was kind of up. I went into the bedroom and the sun had been shining on the bed making it really warm. I climbed into the bed and told Therese I was just going to be there for a minute. An hour and a half later I awoke. The cat was on top of me, Therese was next to me. We all had taken a cat nap in the sun patch.

The rest of sunday was spent doing chores. Doing much neglected laundry, chipping Therese's car out of the ice block that formed around it, and making a laughable attempt at cleaning the apartment. I swear to god the only way we can get the apartment clean is to have a lot of people over. Otherwise there isn't any real motivation to clean up, make all the books on the shelves line up, etc. etc. Anyway, it was a good weekend.
