April Fools?
What a day! It isn't even noon and
1. We've had one 24 port switch blow out.
2. Our battery backup system for our phone system went up in smoke.The latter was far more interesting. Everyone evacuated (except me because I'm a disaster junkie and my boss's boss because he was 'the captain of the ship') The firemen came and did some really cool thermal imagery of the battery unit to make sure the wall and floor behind it didn't catch fire. Of course our phone systems are completely down now, everyone is nervous, and my company will now have to pitch out about major bucks for a new backup system. Hopefully, they will bite the bullet and do a full phone system upgrade since the current one is roughly 6 years old and no longer supported by Avaya. In my opinion, they should send everyone home, why tempt the April Fool fates.
